O Metrô de Washington Metrorail (Washington, D.C.) é o sistema de metropolitano que opera na cidade de Washington e comunidades vizinhas nos estados de Maryland e Virginia, nos EUA.
História
Desde a sua inauguração em 1976, a rede tem crescido e conta com cinco linhas identificadas por cores, com 86 estações em 171 km de linha férrea. O projeto original foi concluído em 13 de janeiro de 2001.
No mês de junho de 2008, o Metrorail transportou 19.729.641 passageiros, com uma média de 798.456 por dia de trabalho.
Estão planejadas duas novas linhas o Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project, Linha Prata (29 estações - 37 Km) e a Bi-County Transitway, Linha Lilás (12 estações - 25 km) que se interligará com as Linhas Vermelha (2 pontos), Verde e Laranja.
O metro é operado pela Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.
