He gave the map a last appraising glance,and was ready to get to work on what lookedlike a not too difficult forecast. This wasThursday, and since he was out of touch withthe weather, he checked back as far as Mon-day. That had been a typical summer situa-tion. A massive Pacific High dominated allthe oceanic part of the map, and extendedthrough British Columbia down into Mon-tana.
