Protestos, Nobeis[editar código-fonte]
Não entendo o motivo de a página estar bloqueada para edição, estão faltando muitas informações relevantes sobre a Greta: a segunda indicação ao Nobel, os protestos de 2019 e 2020 (sequer é citado os 500 mil estudantes que ela reuniu em Madri), os outros prêmios, as cartas abertas, a relação dela com o Brasil - as participações dela em atividades brasileiras (esse ano, se não me engano, participou de uma manifestação online com o movimento brasileiro), a doação à UNICEF de 100 mil dólares, etc. Acho que o nível de proteção deve cair para poder haver contribuições na página. --Bartender, Hold me All Night (discussão) 14h25min de 7 de maio de 2020 (UTC)

Em Londres em outubro de 2018, ela escreveu a 'Declaração de Rebelião' organizada pelo Extinction Rebellion, um movimento político-social que utiliza da resistência não violenta e da desobediência civil para compelir a ação governamental no combate as mudanças climáticas, opondo às Casas do Parlamento. Ela disse: "Estamos enfrentando uma crise sem precedentes que nunca foi tratada como uma crise e nossos líderes estão agindo como crianças. Nós precisamos acordar e mudar tudo". [1] [2]

Em 24 de novembro de 2018, ela falou no TEDxStockholm.[3][4] Ela falou sobre quando ela percebeu, com 8 anos de idade, que as mudanças climáticas existiam e ficou imaginando o motivo de não ser manchete em todos os canais, como se tivesse uma guerra acontecendo. Ela disse que não foi a escola para se tornar uma cientista do clima, como alguns sugeriram, porque a ciência chegou ao seu fim e somente restaram a negação, ignorância e a inatividade. Especulando que seus filhos e seus netos perguntariam a ela o motivo pelo qual eles não agiram em 2018 enquanto ainda restava tempo, ela concluiu que "nós não podemos mudar o mundo jogando pelas regras, porque as regras precisam ser mudadas." Greta enviou uma carta para à Conferência das Nações Unidas pelas Mudanças Climáticas, conhecida como COP24, em 4 de dezembro de 2018,[6] e também falou diante da plenária em 12 de dezembro de 2018.[7][8] Durante a conferência, ela também participou em um painel falando junto aos representantes da fundação "Nós Não Temos Tempo" (We Don't Have Time foundation), na qual ela falou sobre o início da greve escolar.
