Alexander John Thompson (Plaistow, Newham, 1885Wallington, Sutton, 17 de junho de 1968) foi um matemático britânico, autor da última grande tabela de logaritmos, publicada em 1952. Esta tabela, Logarithmetica britannica, fornece os logaritmos de todos os números inteiros de 1 a 100000 com 20 dígitos, suplantando as tabelas prévias de similar escopo, em particular as tabelas de Henry Briggs, Adriaan Vlacq e Gaspard de Prony.[1]
