The BEL Group is a Portuguese business conglomerate that encompasses companies from various sectors, ranging from aeronautics and automation to distribution and logistics, as well as industry, coffee, real estate, and media.

Established in 2001, Grupo BEL comprises numerous companies with recognized presence in both national and international markets. It operates across six major business areas: BEL Industry, BEL Logistics, BEL Innovation, BEL Real Estate, BEL Communication and BEL Sustainable Solutions.

Governance Structure[editar | editar código-fonte]

The various bodies and commissions comprising the governance structure are entrusted with providing strategic direction and executing the policies of the Group. The governance framework of Grupo BEL includes the Board of Directors, Advisory and Supervisory Board, Executive Committee, ESG Committee, Ethics and Conduct Committee, Financial Reporting, and Compliance Department.

Grupo BEL is comitted to aligning with the United Nations' 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As such, it has pledged to tailor its operations towards achieving the targets set forth by each SDG.

It is a member of the board of UN Global Compact Portugal, a partner of the Portuguese Association of Business Ethics (APEE), GRACE, ALL4Integrity, and BCSD Portugal.

Grupo BEL takes a responsible and proactive stance in preventing and addressing climate change, waste management, and environmental preservation. As such, it has undertaken a series of commitments to advance along this path:

  • It has joined the Lisbon Business Mobility Pact, pledging to implement measures aimed at making the capital safer, more accessible, environmentally friendly, and with more efficient mobility systems. This commitment is rooted in the fundamental principles of collaboration, commitment, transparency, and safety.
  • It has been steadily growing its electric vehicle fleet. Among its subsidiaries, Mistério da Terra S.A. boasts one of the most cutting-edge electric fleets in the country. Each year, the Grupo BEL's fleet travels an average of over two million kilometers powered by renewable energy. Moreover, all vehicles used by Administrators and Directors are 100% electric and charged by photovoltaic solar panels.
  • It has made substantial investments in outfitting its facilities across various companies with solar panels, with the aim of relying entirely on this energy source for future consumption. Additionally, their commitment to reducing carbon footprint is evident in recycling practices, improved water efficiency, and decreased paper usage.

Grupo BEL backs institutions and social initiatives aimed at fostering the sustainable development of the communities where they operate.

The institutional partners and supporters encompass organizations such as the Nova School of Business & Economics, the Batalha de Aljubarrota Foundation, the Portuguese Red Cross, the Filhos do Coração Association, the Mercearia Social da Penha de França, the Aylan Kurdi Caravan, among others.

Grupo BEL HQ

Bel Network Solutions, specializing in software development and IT solutions, was established in 2001 as the inaugural company of Grupo BEL. It has since evolved into Grupo Bel S.A.

In 2004, BEL Distribuição, S.A. was founded with the primary aim of acquiring small trading and distribution companies in the central region of the Portugal, along with vending machines. At the same time, the company ventured into the Food & Beverage sector.

In 2009, DLP Portugal, S.A. was established, focusing on the import/export of Food&Beverage & Tobacco. Additionally, the vending machine assets of the company in Carregado were acquired.

In 2010, Mistério da Terra, S.A. was founded, initially focusing on the real estate sector. Its main objective was to strenghtenthe development of this new business area within Grupo BEL.

2011-2020[editar | editar código-fonte]

In 2012 and 2013, Grupo BEL acquired Leirivending – Comércio, Distribuição e Vending, S.A., a company with 14 years of experience in the vending sector, specialized in the HORECA channel for selling coffee, beverages and snacks, along with the complete assets of Beiradis, the largest vending machine distributor in Coimbra.

In 2014, Grupo BEL acquired Urbilink – Mediação Imobiliária, Lda, a real estate company, aiming to strenghthen the development of this new business within Grupo BEL.
